Solar panels work with the energy of the sun, so in Costa Rica, they start generating from 6 am reaching a maximum generation at 11 am, and lowering their generation until 6 pm when it gets dark and they stop generating energy.
Tip 1: Try to use the energy during the peak generation hours, i.e., between 10 am and 2 pm, so that the energy you are using comes directly from the solar panels. For example, performing the following activities during generation hours will lower your electricity bill: washing, cooking, pumping water, among others.
Tip 2Perform maintenance at least 1 time a year. Solar panels require little maintenance, so much so that during the winter they clean themselves in the rain. However, it is recommended to clean the dirt accumulated during the summer, as well as to check that the panels are properly fastened. This will allow you to extend the life of your solar panels, as well as increase generation since a dirty panel lowers its solar production.
Tip 3Request the detailed electricity bill every month, as well as the distributed generation report from your electricity distributor. Check if the billed amounts are growing or if there is an increase in your billing. YUXTA Energy will gladly help you check in case there is bad billing or maintenance needs to be performed.
